The power company expected to be the first partially sold by the government is reporting a sharp profit fall.
For the six months to December 31, Mighty River Power recorded a net profit of $17.6million – down 81 per cent when compared with the same period in 2010.
Mighty River attributes the fall to non-cash value movements in its derivative financial instruments, largely due to the global fall in long term wholesale interest rates.
