Resurfacing works are expected to get underway on State Highway 29a tonight.
"Resurfacing works will be in place on SH29A near Trustpower Arena," says the NZ Transport Agency.
"It will be night works only."
The works will be carried out in the hours from 7pm to 5am, tonight and tomorrow night.
"One lane will be available at all times. Consider using alternative route.
"A 50km/h Temporary speed limit will be in place "

80% of the road users that travel that stretch currently ignore the posted speed limit, even with some raging at those that do obey the limit.
