More than 30,000 people are expected to attend Bay Dreams at Baypark on Thursday, January 2 2020.

To help manage traffic congestion, roads near the event site at Trustpower Baypark stadium will be closed to all vehicles expect festival buses. Truman Lane between the State Highway 29A intersection and Tip Lane will be closed all day on January 2.

There will be a lot of people walking between Arataki and Trustpower Baypark, with extensive traffic management in place to ensure their safety.

Most festival-goers will be catching buses from drop and ride locations at Windermere, Blake Park, Gordon Spratt Reserve and the Tauranga city centre. If you're driving through these areas, please travel carefully and expect delays.

Some lane closures will be in place on State Highway 2 between Bayfair and Sandhurst Drive prior to 9pm. For more information residents should see: https://www.nzta.govt.nz/media-releases/traffic-control-for-bay-dreams-2020/

SH2 Maunganui Road will be closed to eastbound traffic between Girven Road and Sandhurst Drive, and to westbound traffic between Sandhurst Drive and Te Maunga roundabout, from 9pm to midnight on January 2 2020. For more information residents should see: https://www.nzta.govt.nz/media-releases/traffic-control-for-bay-dreams-2020/

Please note, the Te Maunga Transfer Station will be closed all day on 2 January, so there may be increased traffic at the Maleme Street Transfer Station and surrounding area as a result. We recommend people consider planning to use the transfer station on another day if possible.
