The Whakatane District Council is reporting only three roads remain closed in the Eastern Bay of Plenty following the region's latest flooding.

Rewatu Road, between State Highway 2 and Poroporo Road is still closed.

Other roads which are closed include Waimana West Road and Matahi Valley Road, south of Ogilivies Bridge.

All other roads, including State Highway 2, Waimana Gorge, are now open, says the Council.
