Mount Maunganui based cricketer Kane Williamson took home the supreme award at the New Zealand Cricket Awards in Auckland on Thursday night.

Named New Zealand's best cricketer of the year in 2016 and 2017, Williamson was again presented with the Sir Richard Hadlee Medal.

The 28-year-old batsman had another superb year in the test match format, scoring 801 runs at the stunning average of 89.

Those numbers also allowed him to pick up the awards for best test player and the Redpath Cup for first-class batting.

Still just 18, Amelia Kerr took home the women's one-day international player award, the Phyl Blackler Cup for women's domestic bowling and the Gillette Venus Cup as the secondary schools' female player of the year.

The young Wellingtonian amassed 415 ODI runs over the judging period at an average of 59, including a world record 232 not out against Ireland.

In that match, she also claimed figures of 5-17 in an overall tally of 19 wickets for the season.

White Ferns team-mate Sophie Devine was the other multi-award winner, the all-rounder honoured for her impressive limited overs seasons by taking out the women's ODI and T20 prizes.

The familiar faces of Black Caps batsman Ross Taylor (ODI), left-arm seamer Trent Boult (first-class bowling) and Colin Munro (T20) were also recognised.

Ross scored 759 ODI runs at an average of 84, while Boult collected 35 first-class wickets at an average of 24.

The domestic player of the year awards went to Wellington batsman Devon Conway and Central Districts wicketkeeper-batswoman Natalie Dodd.

Wellington stalwart Ewen Chatfield, who played 43 Tests and 114 ODIs for New Zealand, was awarded the prestigious Bert Sutcliffe Medal for outstanding services to cricket.

The recognition capped off his 51st consecutive and final season of club cricket.
