Planned night time closures of State Highway 2 will begin on Monday night through the Karangahake Gorge.

The NZTA says the road is being closed off for asphalt resurfacing works between 8.00pm and 5.00am on Monday March 11 to Wednesday March 13.

'The road closure is between Karangahake Village (School Road) and Waitawheta Road (Waikino).

'Residents affected by the road closure can access Mackaytown and Karangahake Village from the western Paeroa side or the Waikino Village from the eastern Waihi side.”

The road works are scheduled to be completed by Thursday March 14 at 5.00am.
