Man killed in BOP motorcycle crash named

Police have released the name of the person killed in a motorbike crash in the Bay of Plenty.

The man died after a motorcycle crashed into a powerpole in Ruatoki.

He was 47-year-old Tomi Timoti, of Taneatua, says a police spokesperson.

"The crash was reported shortly after midnight on 6 March.

"Enquiries into the cause of the crash are ongoing."

People with information about the crash as asked to contact their nearest police station.

Alternatively, information can be left anonymously via the Crimestoppers 0800 555 111 line.
