UPDATE 4.30: One person has been transported to hospital following a car crash on Fraser St.

Police were called at about 3.15pm to a crash involving two cars and a street light at the corner of Courtney Rd and Fraser St, Parkvale.

"Two people appear to have sustained minor to moderate injuries and one person was transported to hospital," says a police spokesperson.

"The road was blocked for a time however it appears the scene has been cleared."

EARLIER: Traffic is backed up on Fraser Street following a crash this afternoon.

A witness at the scene says two cars have crashed.

"One is down a bank down Courtney Road and another is in the middle of Fraser Street.

"There are several people in the car. Police have been called."

Traffic is backed up and people are being told to avoid the area.
