Motorists travelling in the Eastern Bay are being warned to expect delays this week.
Re-sealing works are being planned for State Highway 2, between Opotiki and the Waioeka Gorge.
Work is currently planned for the week starting January 7 (weather-dependent), says the NZTA.
"Stop/go traffic control will be in place during sealing works at each site, followed by loose chip amd 50km/h speed restrictions for about 2-3 days afterward to protect the new seal amd allow the chip to properly embed.
"Please drive with care & allow extra time for your journey."
