The investigation is still ongoing following a fatal crash early Saturday morning.
Emergency services were called to the one-vehicle accident on Te Puna Station Road, near Tauranga just before 4.30am.
There were two occupants in the car, one unfortunately was killed, while the other sustained critical injuries.
A police spokesperson says the crash is still being investigated by the Serious Crash Unit who will determine the cause/contributing factors.
“These investigations take some time, usually months.”
Police are also appealing for information following the crash.
