A three car crash is currently blocking the Sandhurst Drive bridge in Papamoa.

A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline says it appears to be a nose to tail at the traffic lights on the bridge.

"One lane is currently being blocked."

Motorists are being advised to avoid the area if possible and to be aware of delays.
