Vintage tractors on show

Morris McFall's private collection of tractors is on display at Mount Maunganui over the weekend.

Morris McFall has 12 of his tractors on display at the Vintage Tractor show.

Morris bought his first tractor a 1965 Nuffield 10/60 30 years ago. But he's only been getting serious about collecting tractors in the last six to seven years.

Unlike other tractor collectors Morris is not brand specific and restores to working condition whatever takes his interest.

His oldest tractor is a 1926 Hart Parr tractor. Morris's collection is all New Zealand, except for one, a 1959 Aussie Chamberlain tractor from New South Wales.

As well as Morris's dozen tractors, he also has on display in Hocking Street a few stationary engines and his collection of five classic cars, including a 1978 Cadillac ElDorado, which used to belong to the US Department of Defence.

It's the first display by the Tauranga vintage tractor club, and its fund raising for Mount Rotary. The display continues on Sunday from 10am - 4pm.
