The Bay of Plenty Volcanix hit the road to take on Counties Manukau Heat at Papakura's Massey Park today, in their final warmup runout before the launch of the women's Farrah Palmer Cup competition.
Head coach Brendon Webby has named an experienced starting fifteen with the introduction of only one new cap - Rangataua winger Olivia Richardson.
The youthful reserves will be bolstered by the experience of prop Ereti Williams, midfielder Hana Tapiata and winger Anahera Mohi.
The Bay of Plenty under 18 girls will meet their Counties Manukau counterparts in the curtain raiser before the Volcanix kick off at 2.30pm.
The Farrah Palmer Cup opens next Saturday for the Volcanix. They and the Steamers co-star at Tauranga Domain in a double-header with both teams taking on Canterbury.
