A number of Bay of Plenty supermarkets are bringing home the bragging rights, following Foodstuff's annual co-op awards.

The awards ceremony saw Brookfield New World gain one of the highest accolades, winning the award of New World Store of the Year.

Alongside this the store has also won overall bakery of the year – which acknowledges the most accomplished bakery out of all New World, Pak'n'Save and Four Square stores under the Foodstuffs brand.

Similarly, Pak'n'Save Tauriko has also been recognised for Fresh food department of the year with their Service Deli taking home the winning title.

Brookfield New World owner Brendon Good says it's an amazing achievement and he is proud of the team.

'Especially considering there are about 100 other stores we were up against.”

He says it's a good reflection of the hard work put in daily by all staff.

'We've always known we have a very special shopping experience, but to be recognised for it is fantastic.

'We pride ourselves on our focus in the overall experience customers have in our store and putting them first.

'In the Bakery we make everything on site, and from scratch, by a skilful team of bakers.”

Alongside this Brendon says the team also offers an extensive range of fresh food and produce, and puts a huge focus into providing quality products, and a unique range of products sought by its customers.
