SH2 closed near Whakatane

There is no indication yet, as to when the road will be reopened.

State Highway 2 between Taneatua and Opotiki is closed due to a large slip.

NZTA says the slip has happened between Fraser Road and Waimana Valley Road.

'Detours are in place for eastbound travellers on Taneatua Road, Valley Road, Gorge Road, Ohope Road, Pohutakawa Ave and Wainui Road; and in reverse for westbound travellers.”

There is no indication yet, as to when the road will be reopened.
