Fans get first taste of One Love 2019

The One Love Festival was attended by thousands of reggae fanatics earlier this year.

Reggae fans from around the nation will have their first taster of what's in store for one of the most vibrant and popular summer music festivals, with the first line-up for One Love 2019 revealed.

Now in its fifth year, One Love has well and truly established itself in the hearts of reggae fans from all corners of the globe.

The two-day event returns in 2017 on Auckland Anniversary Weekend - Saturday January 26 and Sunday January 27 - to its home in the heart of the Bay of Plenty, at the Tauranga Domain.

Keeping to One Love tradition, next year's line-up will feature an array of the best roots, rock and reggae acts in the world.

The first line-up revealed by Promoter Pato Alvarez today, includes headliner UB40 featuring Ali Campbell.

The chart-topping multi-platinum reggae-pop outfit is no stranger to these shores, with the band's hit songs such as ‘Red Red Wine', ‘(I Can't Help) Falling In Love With You', and ‘I Got You Babe' absolute favourites.

The Marley family, one of the most-requested list of acts for One Love returns to the stage, with Ky Mani Marley, son of Bob Marley gracing the stage.

Other international big-hitters sharing the stage include British legend Maxi Priest, renowned for smash hits such as ‘Wild World' and ‘Close To You'; Hawaiian reggae Kings Kolohe Kai and US soul singer LaTasha Lee. The new generation coming out of Jamaica, Raging Fiyah will perform in New Zealand for the very first time.

Representing Aotearoa and flying the flag for homegrown reggae and R'n'B are the legendary Katchafire, just after releasing their successful latest album, LEGACY.

Festival favourites, FIJI, LAB, Aaradhna, Tomorrow People, General Fiyah, Paua, are also on the talent-packed line-up.

One Love Festival are happy to welcome and support up-coming local talent, adding Common Unity and Cool Meditation.

After the loss of New Zealand reggae legend Papa Carl Perkins of Herbs and founder of House of Shem, One Love Festival will honour him with a tribute set from sons Te Omeka and Isiah, who will continue to keep his legacy alive.

Today's announcement is just the first and punters can expect more exciting international and local acts to be added to the two-day bill.

For this event, it should be at baypark where the venue is a little better suited.
