Police have released the name of a woman killed in a Bay of Plenty crash.

Ngaire Helen Woods, 80, died following a two-car crash at the intersection of State Highway 30 and State Highway 33, Tikitere, near Rotorua.

The crash happened just after 9.30am on Tuesday May 22.

'The woman was initially taken to hospital in a serious condition but died later that day,” says a police spokesperson.

'Police's condolences are with Mrs Woods' family.

'The Serious Crash Unit continue to investigate the cause of the crash.”
