Driver uninjured in train crash

UPDATE 1.30PM - A driver has escaped without injuries following a crash between her vehicle and a train.

A police media spokesperson says the crash happened around 12pm.

"Emergency services were called to a collision between a train and a car on Ohinepanea Road, Pukehina, about midday.

"There was one person in the vehicle, she was not injured."

Reports are coming in about a crash between a train and a ute near Pukehina.

A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline says it’s happened at a rail crossing near Ohinepanea Rd, off SH2.
