A Christchurch business might be shouting its staff a trip to Las Vegas, but similar generosity is alive and well in the Bay of Plenty too.

Signature Homes Bay of Plenty/Coromandel franchisees Debbie and Craig Williams are taking their staff to Fiji as a thank you for 10 years of award-winning service.

Debbie says 23 staff are coming on the trip, with seven kindly staying behind to keep the business running while everyone else is away.

'The trip came about after winning the Signature Homes National Client Survey Award for 10 years running.

'After winning it for the sixth time, we said to our staff at the time that if we can do it 10 years in a row, we were all going to Fiji.”

After finally making it 10 in a row last year, all staff employed at the time were given the good news they would be going to Fiji.

They'll be staying at a resort in Denarau on the western side of Viti Levu, Fiji's largest island, for four nights and five days in June.

The franchise's operations manager, who has been a part of the team for the full 10 years, is also having her family join her at the franchise's expense.

'They're an awesome team. They give their heart and soul to Signature Homes, so why not reward them?” says Debbie.

'I think it's essential to reward and recognise any good service people give. We have a great team dynamic in the office, and I think that comes down to everyone appreciating each other's role in the business.”
