UPDATE - 3pm:
A cyclist has been taken to hospital with moderate injuries following a crash near Brookfield this afternoon.
A police media spokesperson says the crash happened just before 2pm.
'This happened around 1.56pm when we received a report of a crash between a car and a cyclist on Bellevue Road near Brookfield Lane and Jefferson Place.
'The cyclist is being transported by ambulance to hospital with moderate injuries and police are currently attending.”

Reports are coming in about a crash between a cyclist and a car near Brookfield.
A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline says the incident happened near Brookfield New World.
'I saw someone putting a push bike into the back of the car but they didn't seem stressed out or anything.
'They didn't get into the ambulance but they were talking to the paramedic.”

Get the CARS off the roads - especially those cellphone equipped ones.

This intersection is an example of exactly why we need significant investment in cycle infrastrucutre (which will come at a fraction of the cost of general road maintenance/upgrades for cars). Regardless of what happened the cyclist ended up in hospital and the car at the panel beaters if anything at all. We need safer roads for all adults and children regardless of whether you drive a car or not.
