Machinery on road causes morning delays

Traffic delayed last night.

A piece of machinery which has fallen onto the road is the reason behind slow-moving traffic near Te Puke this morning.

A police media spokesperson says the incident happened at about 7.30am.

'A piece of machinery has fallen off a trailer and onto the Te Puke Highway. A salvage firm is on the way to clear it up.

'Traffic is flowing in both directions, but slowly.”

The crash is the second to occur in the past 12 hours, and follows another near Baypark last night.

'Police and ambulance were called to a two-vehicle crash on SH29A at 8.44pm on Thursday.

'It appears to have been minor.”

There are no details on injuries as of yet, says police.
