A four-year-old and a two-month-old have been named as the children who died following a crash on the Desert Road.

Arteen Mosaferi, 4, died at the scene of the crash on Friday, while Radeen Mosaferi, two months old, died in Starship Hospital on Sunday.

Police says both boys were from Hamilton.

'Another person involved in the crash remains in a critical condition in Waikato Hospital.

'Police extend their deepest sympathies to the family of Arteen and Radeen for their tragic loss.”

The Serious Crash Unit and the Commercial Vehicle Safety Team are investigating the cause of the crash.
