One person has died following a serious crash near Rotorua.

A police media spokesperson says emergency services are in attendance.

"This is a serious crash which has happened at the intersection of Edmund and Clayton Roads in Rotorua.

"Police were notified of the crash, which occurred between a truck and a motorcycle, around 11.20am.

"One person has died at the scene and the Serious Crash Unit is in attendance."

Diversions are in place and delays are expected. Motorists travelling in the area are being asked to drive with caution.
