Bay of Plenty residents are reporting feeling an earthquake overnight.

People say they felt the quake around 10pm.

According to GeoNet, there was an earthquake at that time about 25km east of Te Kaha.

The magnitude 3.3 quake had a focal depth of 5km.

Although it was of 'good quality”, GeoNet describes the shaking as 'weak”.
