A power pole is down and one lane is partially blocked following a crash in Ohope earlier this morning.
A police media spokesperson says a car crashed into a power pole just before 8am.
'Police were called to the crash around 7.40am - a car hit a power pole on Pohutukawa Ave near Ohope Four Square.
'The road is partially blocked and fire is assisting with traffic control at the moment.
'No injuries reported at this stage, although the power pole is down and will get checked out by the local power company.”
A witness who watched the incident unfold says the driver fled the scene and was apprehended by police further down the road.

When is the Govt going to realize that many people just dont have the driving skills or right attitude to be driving.Nothing will change until maximum penalties and correct driver training take place.
