A day of fun and free entertainment is all planned and ready for the community at the Arataki Day Out.

The day is set to bring together families from all walks of life for a day of excitement at Arataki Park.

'This is a way for us to give back to the community, with a free event for families and kids,” says organiser Pato Alvarez. 'They'll get to enjoy a free concert including artists like Ria Hall and General Fiyah alongside local bands.

'We're also bringing social media star William Waiirua to hang out with the kids and we're hoping to have a few popular rugby stars on the day as well.”

He says entertainment for the kids is sorted with bouncy castles, activities, lollies and a free sausage sizzle thanks to the support of generous local businesses.

'For the last three years we have been supporting Homes of Hope with monetary donations each year.

'We'll still be doing this but we have decided to bring another entity on board to support them with what we do best, live entertainment and making good memories for kids.

'The main reason why I support Homes of Hope and now children at Arataki Sports Club is because I believe kids are the future and if we can do as much as we can to keep them away from the bad and focus on the good the world, eventually we can create a better place for all of us.

'What Arataki Sports Club does is organise and keep kids busy with training during the year. That's something we like and strongly support.”

The event is alcohol and smoke free. Entry is free and it is being run on March 11 from 12pm-4pm.
