Police are seeking witnesses to a fatal crash on State Highway 2 at Waikino, in Karangahake Gorge.
Rotorua 19-year-old Kelsey Runga died as a result of the crash which happened when two cars crashed around 9pm on Friday February 2.
The Serious Crash Unit are investigating the crash between two cars in which one person died at the scene.
"A female dog called Stormy (pictured) ran from one of the vehicles after the crash and has not been located," says police.
Anyone who saw the crash or may have seen Stormy since is asked to contact Thames Police on 07 867 9604.
