One injured after car leaves road

Emergency services were called to a crash on Pyes Pa Road. The video is footage taken of last night;s crash on Te Matai Road.

One person has been taken to hospital with moderate injuries after a crash on Pyes Pa Road.

A police media spokesperson says the accident happened at about 8am.

“Police were called to reports of a car going off of Pyes Pa Road.

“There was only one occupant in the car and they have been taken to Rotorua Hospital with moderate injuries.

“The car was removed by a tow truck shortly before 9am.”

The crash follows another two car crash on Te Matai Road last night.

Western Bay road policing manager acting Senior Sergeant Wayne Hunter says the accident happened just before 10pm.

“Two cars were involved in a head on crash on Te Matai Road.

“This was a crash that happened at a relatively low speed and thankfully no one was injured.”
