Reports are coming in of a car off the road on State Highway 36, between Tauranga and Rotorua.
A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline says a car is in the bushes between Te Matai Road and Tauranga Direct Road.
"Firefighters are at the scene. The driver appears to still be in the car.
"It doesn't look like any other vehicles have been involved."
