Mayor makes low level flight

Tauranga Mayor Stuart Crosby was onboard a special Pacific Blue flight making a low level fly-over across Tauranga late Monday afternoon.

Six mayors will join Tauranga mayor Stuart Crosby in a low level flight over Tauranga this afternoon.

The flight departed Auckland for Tauranga at 3.45pm and was designed to celebrate the launch of international Pacific Blue flights out of Hamilton International Airport this week.
After the low level flight over Tauranga, the plane travelled to Hamilton and landed there.
Adrian Hamilton-Manns, Pacific Blue general commercial manager, says the special event is a unique way of thanking Bay of Plenty citizens for supporting the new international services since they were announced in June.
Stuart was onboard the flight with six mayors from around the Bay of Plenty and Waikato, including Hamilton Mayor Bob Simcock.
