This year's search for the most sustainable businesses in the Bay of Plenty is nearly complete. The Sustainable Business Network has announced this year's finalists in each of the eight categories.
The judging is complete and the winning businesses will find out at the awards dinner on September 10.
SBN regional manager Jo Wills says there was a great deal of interest shown in the awards this year and entries were received from a diverse range of businesses, including many new to the network, which is promising a sign for the future.
'A number of businesses new to the network and to the awards are showing exciting signs for potential future leadership.”
Jo also sees the growth of SBN's membership as a positive sign for the future.
'This year's awards theme is ‘Reinvent to Thrive'. There is a strong indication coming from finalists that sustainable practice is the preferred way forward, and that they are embracing opportunities to innovate and future-proof their companies, reinventing and adapting to the new business landscape to ensure they maintain their viability and markets.”
