Good morning Sunners, and welcome to what is the first day back at work for some people. However, if you're lucky enough to still be on holiday, the weather is looking good and there's a couple events to keep you occupied in the lead up to New Year's.

There's some fun backyard cricket on at Mount Drury, while over at ASB Baypark car enthusiasts can enjoy the Mount Hardpark event.

MORE FM Backyard Cricket with the Knights is taking place between 1pm and 3pm at Mount Drury Reserve. Kids will have the chance to play with their favourite Northern Knights cricketers, including mascot Knightro. There will also be a chance to win tickets to tomorrow's game against the Kings at the Bay Oval.

If motoring is more your thing, then head on down to ASB Baypark and check out Mount Hardpark 2016 from 10am to 4pm, where car enthusiasts can share their pride and joy in 'a secure environment with likeminded people.”

There will be food and entertainment, as well as the Miss Mount Hardpark Model Search, with a top prize of $750. Gate tickets are $20 per car, or $5 for spectators. Kids under 12 are free.

There's also indoor bowls at the Mt Maunganui Senior Citizens Club, if that's more your scene. Otherwise, enjoy the holiday period – or, if you're at work, think about the weekend.
