Unpredictable is one of many words this reporter would use to describe the new Devilskin studio album ‘Be like the river'.
Just as you think you know what the four-piece Hamilton band are going to deliver, they turn around and hit you with juicier riffs, more hard-hitting rhythm guitars and vocals to drag out emotions from your very soul.
No two tracks are the same, with songs taking on genres from rock to metal, acoustic and power ballads.
Paul, Nic, Jennie and Nail recorded the new album, which is due to be released this Friday, at Modern World Studios, Tetbury, in the United Kingdom after their European tour.
After the success of ‘We Rise', the band maintained their strong working relationship with producer Clint Murphy.
Clint mixed and produced the album, working alongside Ryan Smith from Sterling Sound New York.
The incredible artwork on the new album was created by Barny Bewick from Indium Design.
'We are beyond excited to be releasing our new studio album,” says the band.
'The title comes from a lyric of ours ‘Be like the river and cut through the stone', the message is about reaching your goals through perseverance and unwavering determination.
'It's been a difficult journey so far for Devilskin and we feel this album really encapsulates and represents our revolution as a band, songwriters and as people.”
Be Like The River features the singles ‘Mountains' and recently released ‘Pray'.
Be Like The River will be available as an 11 track album, 13 track deluxe pack and Gatefold LP vinyl edition. Pre Sales are available now from iTunes.
