A 3d perspective of the $10 million development coming to the recently cleared lots on the corner of Willow and Harington Streets has been released.
The three storey office block incorporating a ground floor café is already 40 per cent leased, says Brunel Group construction manager Paul Anning.

The project will be released to the market in the next few months.
'It's great to bring a new project to the city's central business district,” says Paul.
Brunel Group are the design, build and management company for JWL Investment Trust.
The new building will be called "The Reserve" and is planned for completion in April 2018.
Demolition of the two former pubs was expected to be completed last week. Read more here.
Recently named Flaunt and The Vault, earlier names include Illuminati, Lucky clover/Route 67, The Colosseum, The Temple Bar, La Casa Bar, the Home bar, and there may be others.

The smaller building built as a private home was an advertising agency before being converted into a bar in the 1990s. The neighbor on the corner was once Para Rubber.
The corner building was built at the dawn of the twentieth century as the Mechanics Institute, and later became the first Tauranga public library.
Paul says some of the timbers from the building were kauri, but most of the planking was pine.
'We have put it out to some of the furniture makers in the bay who have taken a fair bit of it for recycling which is good.”

As per usual the reality and the 3D perspective or artists impression will be quite different.

it should be part of the consent that as much of the native timer is to be recycled even if they have to give it away

Yes Accountable I would like to know how many car parks were required, and Mallyg, i can't see a daytime cafe surviving out there unless it develops a real strong following, however its better than what was there. They could have built apartments up top and retail at street level
ONE (sorry TWO) questions

ONE How many people will be employed in this THREE story building?? TWO many carparks have the Council required for the building??? I would suggest that the ratio is LESS than 1 carpark to ten 10 workers. About time the Council required one carpark per "planned/expected" worker..............
