Tauranga City United only need to look as far as the 80s song – The Only Way is Up – by Yazz and the Plastic Population as the side sit at the bottom of their football league.
It's been a hard baptism of fire for Tauranga as they struggle in their first season of the Northern Regional Football League.
Last weekend the crashed to a humiliating 5-2 defeat to the middle of the table East Coast Bays. But they need to look past the disappointment and lift for their home match against Western Springs at Links Ave, today at 3pm.
Western Springs are coming off a 2-2 draw to Onehunga Sports, ironically it's Western Springs fourth draw in a row. The visitors will be fancying their chances to tick the win box when they take on the Blues.
In the other matches in the round Hamilton Wanderers host Glenfield Rovers, East Coast Bays will take on Bay Olympic at home, Onehunga Sports are on the road to Eastern Suburbs, Forrest Hill are at home to Three Kings United and Central United will host Birkenhead United. Melville United have the bye.
