Tga budget services stretched

Hundreds of people are flooding to Tauranga Budget Advisory Service for help. The organisation has already surpassed its previous yearly record of 742 new clients by at least 100.

Tauranga Budgeting Advisory Service manager Marjorie Spicer says the organisation has already surpassed its previous yearly record of 742 new clients by at least 100.

Tauranga Budget Advisory Service holds a yearly six week training session for its clients but is running a second training session because of growing demand.
The first training session was held between February and April this year and the second is scheduled for September 10 – October 15.
Tauranga Budgeting Advisory Service manager Marjorie Spicer says she expects the organisation's number of new clients to exceed 900 by the end of the year.
'Most of our clients are in the lower socio-economic levels and their incomes are generally guaranteed, but pressure for them is coming from the credit squeeze. Creditors are starting to close in and are getting more demanding and less flexible,” says Marjorie.
