The feature match for the Bethlehem Coachlines Baywide Secondary Schools Competition will be a repeat of the round one final between Te Kani Shield holders Western Heights High School and Te Whare Kura o Mauao.

With precious competition points at stake and the Te Kani shield neither team need any further motivation for this epic encounter which kicks off this afternoon.

Western Heights have only lost once this season to Te Whare Kura o Mauao who they then beat in the round one final. With the scores tied at one all this season, today's game will be a true test match for both teams.

In their last encounter Te Whare kura o Mauao were beaten by the Western Heights set piece and structured play. Outstanding Western Heights' fullback Brodie Wood saved two certain tries with bone crunching tackles on the try line.

Western Heights High School will this week have to contain the up and coming Bay of Plenty Under-16 open side flanker Taitua Woller who will add more pressure at the breakdown for Western Heights, while creating more counter attack opportunities for the Te Whare kura o Mauao backline.

For Te Whare Kura o Mauao to come out on top this weekend they will need to ensure their backline use the space out wide to beat the opposition rather than attempting to run over them.

The Western Heights team will need to remain focused and stick to their successful game plan. The risk for them will be allowing the Te Whare Kura o Mauao to disrupt this pattern and allow the opposition to play a fast free flowing style for which Te Whare Kura o Mauao are the masters of.

The game will be played at Western Heights High School No.1 field at 12.00pm.
