Right on to Cameron: it’s green

After more than a decade of not being able to turn right, motorists are again enjoying the opportunity to ease their way on to Cameron Road in the direction of town from 11th Avenue.

The right hand turn is reinstated for city and bridge bound traffic from the Memorial Park end of 11th Avenue.

The 11th Avenue and Cameron Road intersection is reconfigured with harbour bridge bound motorists able to turn right onto Cameron Road now.

The arrow was switched on this morning.

Tauranga City Council communications advisor Megan Holmes says the aim of the right turn's reinstitution is to improve traffic flow and safety.

She is advising motorists at the intersection to take care over the next few days as to adjust to the changes to road markings and traffic signal phasing.

Why bother turning right onto Cameron Rd to get to the bridge? So much easier to drive straight through & turn left onto expressway at Koromiko Street.

while at it now removed the right turn at 13th ave and 12th ave since there is now another way, seems funny in some places there is too many turns or routes and others have very little
