It's 'D-Day” for Kiwi musician Hollie Smith with the release of her greatly-anticipated new album Water Or Gold today.
To celebrate the release of the talented songstress' third studio album, Hollie's set off on a nine-date national tour which will finish up at Totara Street in Mount Maunganui on April 16.

The now Papamoa-based musician describes Water or Gold as her best album to date and is excited to take the new songs out on the road this month.
'I was a bit worried it wasn't going to be a good album to be completely honest, it was a bit of a sprint to the finish” says Hollie.
'It was a very crazy, crazy last year, so many things were happening that I didn't feel in the zone. But I think that ended up working out well for me because I didn't overthink everything.”
Water Or Gold was produced by Hollie and mixed in New York with Kiwi producer and engineer Aaron Nevezie who's worked with the likes of The Black Keys and Danger Mouse.
'The process was definitely different as we did the whole home studio thing and I didn't get to hear everything together until the mixing of the album which was quite good actually.
'Normally when I've released albums it'd be six months after recording and I'd be a bit over it, I'm loving listening to the album still and it's exciting to be out playing Water or Gold on the road.”
Check out The Weekend Sun next week for an interview with Hollie Smith and your chance to win a double pass to her Mount Maunagnui gig at Totara Street on April 16.
