A photographer travelling through the Central North Island thought he was going to see nothing but cloud and rain, but Amit Kamble got a pleasant surprise when he saw a double rainbow.

'After a tedious Tongariro Crossing on a cloudy rainy day, I thought I'd never see anything but clouds and rain, but nature just wants to surprise you,” he says.

'As we were heading back home, the nature greeted with one of the most amazing scenes I've seen in my life. Stunning double rainbow with the majestic Mt Doom (Mount Ngauruhoe), and to add that little touch to the scene is that little "Kiwi" road sign, making it a perfect kiwi scene.”

Amit snapped a picture of the double rainbow using Exif: 1/80sec, f/13, ISO 100 at 70mm Tamron 70-200 on Canon 6D.
