Black Caps and Bay of Plenty cricketer Kane Williamson has topped of his stellar year on the international cricket stage with the Sir Richard Hadlee Medal and named New Zealand cricketer of the year.
Kane, who was named the New Zealand Sportsman of the Year at the 2016 Halberg Awards last week, has also been named the ANZ Test International Player of the Year, and won the Redpath Cup for first-class batting.

The latest swag of awards comes on the back of an outstanding year for the 25-year-old, who – following the retirement of Brendon McCullum - will next month captain the Black Caps at the ICC World Twenty20 in India.
Kane scored five test centuries in the period judged; set a New Zealand record for the number of test runs scored in a calendar year, and just before Christmas rose to become the ICC's No.1 ranked test batsman.
While it has been a stellar year for the right handed batsman, he says it's too hard to choose one moment as a highlight.
'There's not one moment, the focus in the team is very much about improving. It kind of sounds boring but that's what it is and it's keeping it really simple and you apply yourself in a humble manner so you're able to improve every day, whether you win or lose.”
New Zealand Cricket annual celebration of cricket was held at the ANZ Viaducts Events Centre in Auckland last night, and saw Brendon McCullum formally farewelled by New Zealand Cricket.
McCullum was also presented with his ICC Spirit of Cricket Award, and the White Ferns' Sophie Devine was recognised for her word record fastest T20 century, scored against India.
Martin Guptill was named both the ANZ ODI and T20 Player of the Year, and Bay of Plenty's Trent Boult won the Winsor Cup for first-class bowling.
White Ferns captain Suzie Bates, who scored a century in the final Rose Bowl ODI at Mt Maunganui this week, capped off another prolific year of run-scoring by being named the International Women's Player of the Year.
Suzie's team-mate Amy Satterthwaite was judged the Domestic Women's Player of the Year.
