Sun to shine across the Bay

A weekend of sunshine is in store for the Bay of Plenty.

The front that moved up the South Island yesterday has stalled over central New Zealand and is expected to move on when a ridge pushes over on Sunday.

According to the MetService's five day forecast, the bay will see sunshine until at least Tuesday.

On Wednesday, rain is forecast to creep in across the Bay.

'Lingering cloud over the weekend could disrupt plans for a day at the beach in most eastern areas of the South Island,” says a statement from the MetService.

'If you do go don't forget that even with cloud you should "slip, slop, slap and wrap". Cloud and drizzle affect Taranaki on Saturday too, while Sunday could bring a few showers for Northland and Auckland, who can expect humid overnight temperatures of 18 degrees this weekend.”
