About 250 of Tauranga's business and civic leaders are expected to meet at Baycourt this evening for economic development agency, Priority One's annual general meeting.
| Andrew Coker. |
Priority One chief executive Andrew Coker says thisis a unique situation in the Bay because usually economic development agencies report directly to the council or government that controls them.
Priority One is half funded by business and half funded by ratepayers in the Western Bay.
Andrew is excited about tonight's event as the organisation has been watching costs and has not held many members' functions of late.
Andrew says the response of about 250 people to attend the AGM is a sign of the good value which Priority One is delivering to the community.
'In the context of recession, to have people looking at other ways to build the economy other than the historical ways of population growth is exciting.”
