Timetable fix due soon

Bay of Plenty Regional Council is reporting a solution to timetable issues on some of Tauranga's Bay Hopper bus routes should be in place by the end of the month.

Following timetable changes last month, routes 1 and 55 have experienced delays.

Bay of Plenty Regional Council transport policy manager Garry Maloney says staff have worked hard to come up with a solution to the problems.

'Unfortunately the changes that we made to improve the efficiency of the service have not worked as we had expected,” says Garry.

'We realise this has caused people problems with getting to their destinations on time, which we apologise for.”

He says they are now finalising an improved timetable for the routes, which should alleviate many of the delays.

'We will be working through the logistics of these changes during the next three weeks and hope to have them in place by the beginning of April.

'Again, we apologise to anyone who has been inconvenienced by the changes to the timetable and hope to have the service up and running to a much improved timetable soon.”

Updates about the timetable changes are available at www.baybus.co.nz or by calling 0800 4 BAY BUS.
