Business confidence in Tauranga has increased dramatically according to the Tauranga Chamber of Commerce's latest economic business survey of its members.
The survey reveals 67 per cent of businesses believe the next six months will be better than the last.
The survey notes that employment intentions are rising and signs of skills shortages are emerging.
Business owners have also shown an increase in confidence with 73 per cent believing their own business will improve over the next six months.
Eight per cent of businesses indicated in the survey that it was difficult to find the right people with the right skills and 50 per cent of businesses expect profitability to be up.
The Northern Region Chambers of Commerce have held this survey for more than 10 years and was completed electronically over five days.
