Nothing says summer like a day at the beach under the scorching sun – and that's how many people chose to enjoy today, with a 28-degree high beaming down on the Bay.

Mount Main Beach was buzzing with summer activities today, with plenty choosing to slip, slop, slap and wrap for a day in the sun.
Many were lining up to cool down with a refreshing Lipton Iced Tea at the temporary Beachside Bar opposite Mount Maunganui Surf Club.
But the beach-goers weren't all from the Bay, there were visitors from throughout the country, and some form abroad, sharing the sunshine.
The Diamond Princess cruised into Port of Tauranga early this morning, bringing with it some visitors from all over the globe.
Climbing off the boat and onto the beach was Amelia and Carlos Ince, who live in Naples, Florida, but originally hail from the Republic of Panama.
Jacob Lovering, 6, Isabella Gaze, 11, and Isaac Lovering, 10, all from Auckland.
Originally from Romania, Dorrel Cioban with two-year-old son Gabriel and David, 5, went kite flying today.
The Lipton's Tea man Miles Blumsom from Hertfordshire, United Kingdom, topped up two-year-old Wyatt Nevis with some iced tea. Wyatt was at the beach with his grandparents from Belgium.
There were also plenty of visitors from the big smoke in Auckland feeling the sand between their toes at Mount Main Beach.
