The Coromandel's idyllic coastline and breath taking ranges hit primetime television on Thursday.
Recently pro surfer Ella Williams and Crowd Goes Wild presenter Hayley Holt surfed the famous Whangamata break before conquering Sleeping God Canyon in the depths of the Kauaeranga Valley.

Ella describes taking on the Sleeping God Canyon as an incredible experience and the highlight for her was discovering something new.
'I feel super lucky to have had the opportunity to explore our patch of paradise,” she says. 'I couldn't believe this epic experience was right here in my backyard.”
Though ocean swells didn't make for decent waves, plenty of fun was had in Whangamata with the duo enjoying a relaxed long board session.
Crowd Goes Wild screened Ella and Hayley's surfing lesson on Thursday night and their canyoning adventure will appear on the show when it returns to air in the New Year.
Destination Coromandel recently featured Ella in a GoPro film series which they then sent to Crowd Goes Wild TV as an invitation to visit the region.
The regional tourism operator says Hayley Holt was quick to embrace the challenge, selecting surfing and canyoning for her kiwi adventure.
This summer, Destination Coromandel will also be inviting people to submit their own adventures on video to be in to win outdoor prizes courtesy of Torpedo 7.
