The Knights are currently sitting in ninth place on the table after four winds, four loses and one abandoned game, leaving them with 18 points in the competition.

The Otago Volts have 22 points, placing them second on the points table behind the Auckland Aces.

The volts have played nine games in total, with five wins, three loses and one abandoned game.

Heading into game play today, Volts captain Nathan McCullum says things have been pretty good so far.

'The boys have batted and bowled really well throughout the whole tournament and we probably just haven't had our straps with the game every bat, and that's probably been our downfall.

'Otherwise, things have been going well and people have been improving as we have gone along. We're sitting ok.”

Nathan says the hard loses are creating a learning curve for the players at different times.

'We've been lucky enough to have different people stand up at different times throughout the competition and we have had a number of people play match winning innings or match winning performances with the ball.

'It's certainly helping everyone grow, get better, and it will help us going into the end of the competition.”

A Georgie Pie fan zone has been set up at the Oval today to keep kids occupied with bouncy castles, face painting, bean bags, game activity and free mini cricket bats.
