Starting something special

What are you doing this weekend to make a difference to Tauranga?

More than 80 people will be working tirelessly towards creating new jobs and wealth for people of our city. Are you ready to support?

Ellis Bryers, Tauranga Maori Business Association Board member who blessed the start of the event, and Steve Vincent, Co-founder of Venture Centre discussing how businesses shape up in Tauranga.

Tauranga Startup Weekend is on November 13-15. Designers, website developers, marketing and ideas people, investors, along with sort after business mentors from across New Zealand will start their 54-hour journey towards creating new successful business people.

"It's an incredibly exciting time in the story of this event, the fourth in Tauranga," says co-lead organiser and co-founder of Venture Centre Jo Allum.

"Our community of budding business owners has grown significantly, as has support from city leaders, existing business owners, investors and incredibly smart people who are volunteering to mentor and guide from all over New Zealand.

'We are on tenterhooks to see what will be accomplished. It will be great to see a crowd come and support those putting in time and effort specifically to increase the prosperity of Tauranga too.”

You can still take part in one of three ways. If you have ambitions to take control of your future (start a business) rock up to reception of Basestation on Durham Street and apply on the spot to participate before 5.30pm.
