Go potty with pottery club

The Bethlehem Pottery Club is proud to present the annual Bayclay 2015 Exhibition and sale of work this weekend.

Now into its 33rd year, the popular and prestigious exhibition showcases hundreds of high-quality works created by the club's members and at Baycourt Community & Arts Centre.

The Bethlehem Pottery Club's Barclay 2015 Exhibition opens at Baycourt today and runs until today.

Club member Dan O'Brien says there will be hundreds of works on display – from pottery to ceramics to sculpture – created by both hobby potters and professional ceramicists.

'This exhibition really is about celebrating the club's members and the fine works they've created,” he explains. 'They've all got their own style and have produced some high quality and fascinating pieces, there will definitely be something for everyone.”

All the works on display are of the highest quality and have been selected especially for exhibition by this year's guest exhibitor, renowned Auckland potter Brendan Adams.

'Brendan creates some truly amazing and skilful works, they are of a fantastic standard and are very intriguing and quirky. He will also have a selection of his own work on display.

'We are really looking forward to the exhibition, our Bethlem Pottery Club members have worked hard all year to create outstanding works and can't wait to share our efforts with the public.”

The Bethlehem Pottery Club's Barclay 2015 Exhibition takes place at Baycourt Community & Arts Centre and finishes today.

The exhibition hours are Sunday from 10am to 3pm. Entry is by gold coin donation.
